A public Safety Awareness Program on safe usage of manned and unmanned level crossings, was conducted today (09.09.2014) by the Safety Branch, and Railway Protection Force of Salem Division. Officials from RTO/Athur and Motor Vehicle Inspector/Valappadi participate in the above safety drive conducted in the unmanned Level Crossing Nos. 157 & 158, and manned Level Crossings Nos. 156 & 159 between Ettappur Road and Minampalli Railway Stations in the Salem Vridhachalam section. Public and road users were counselled on safe crossing of both manned and unmanned level crossings. Handouts and pamphlets were distributed to the public during the program. The program was attended by Shri V. Thavamani Pandi, Addl. Divisional Railway Manager, Salem, Shri Balachandran, Sr. Divisional Safety Officer, Smt Pushpa, Motor Vehicle Inspector, Valappadi, and other officials from Salem Division.
