Customer Helpline No.138 operationlised in Salem Division


As announced in the Railway Budget on 26-02-2015 by the Hon’ble Union Minister of Railways, customer helpline Number 138 has been installed in Salem Division, Southern Railway and made functional to handle all voice complaints relating to cleanliness, food & catering, coach maintenance, linen, etc., and seek assistance in case of medical emergency, etc.  Travelling public are requested to make use of this facility to help Southern Railway to serve them better and efficiently.

Temporary increase in the number of coaches in Trains

To cater to the increased demand by passengers, the following trains have been added with coaches as detailed hereunder on temporary basis:

Resumption of Passenger Train services between Salem and Mettur Dam from 17.03.2015/ 17.03.2015


Due to completion of track maintenance works, the services of Train Nos.56100/56101 Erode-Salem-Mettur Dam Passenger Trains and Train Nos.56102/56103 Salem-Mettur Dam Passenger Trains will now resume to their original timings,  between Salem and Mettur Dam, from 17.02.2015.

PATTERN OF TRAIN SERVICES DUE TO DERAILMENT OF BANGALORE CITY ERNAKULAM INTERCITY EXPRESS NEAR HOSUR



Train No.12677 Bangalore City – Ernakulam Junction Intercity express, which left Bangalore City on 13.02.2015 derailed between Anekal Road  – Hosur stations of Bangalore Division.

I.   TRAINS CANCELLED
Train No.17235 Bangalore City – Nagercoil Jn. express leaving Bangalore City on13.02.2015 is Cancelled.
II. TRAINS DIVERTED:
1. Train No.11014 Coimbatore Jn. – Lokmanya Tilak Terminus express will be diverted via.Tirupattur, Jolarpettai ‘A’ Cabin instead of Salem, Hosur arriving Bangalore on 13.02.2015.
2. Train No.12678 Ernakulam Jn. – Bangalore City on 13.02.2015 is diverted via. Jolarpettai ‘A’Cabin.
3. Train No.16232 Mysore Jn. – Mayiladuturai express leaving Bangalore on 13.02.2015 will be diverted via. Jolarpettai ‘A’Cabin, Tirupattur  instead of Hosur, Dharmapuri.
4. Train No.16527 Yesvantpur – Kannur express leaving Yesvantpur on 13.02.2015 will be diverted via. Jolarpettai ‘A’Cabin, Tirupattur  instead of Hosur, Dharmapuri.
5. Train No.16573 Yesvantpur – Puducherry weekly express leaving Yesvantpur on 13.02.2015 will be diverted via. Jolarpettai ‘A’Cabin, Tirupattur  instead of Hosur, Dharmapuri.
6. Train No.16236 Mysore Jn. – Tuticorin express leaving Bangalore on 13.02.2015 will be diverted via. Jolarpettai ‘A’Cabin, Tirupattur  instead of Hosur, Dharmapuri.
7. Train No.11013 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus  - Coimbatore express via. Jolarpettai ‘A’Cabin, Tirupattur  instead of Hosur, Salem arriving Bangalore on 13.02.2015.
8. Train No.16231 Mayiladuturai – Mysore Jn. express leaving Mayiladuturai on 13.02.2015 will be diverted via. Tirupattur, Jolarpettai ‘A’Cabin instead of Hosur, Dharmapuri arriving Bangalore on 14.02.2015.
9. Train No.16235 Tuticorin – Mysore Jn. express leaving Tuticorin on 13.02.2015 will be diverted via. Tirupattur, Jolarpettai ‘A’Cabin,  instead of Hosur, Dharmapuri arriving Bangalore on 14.02.2015.
10.Train No.16528 Kannur – Yesvantpur weekly express leaving Kannur on 13.02.2015 will be diverted via. Tirupattur, Jolarpettai ‘A’Cabin,  instead of Hosur, Dharmapuri arriving Yesvantpur on 14.02.2015.
11.Train No.17236 Nagercoil Jn. – Bangalore City express leaving Nagercoil on 13.02.2015 will be diverted via. Tirupattur, Jolarpettai ‘A’Cabin,  instead of Hosur, Dharmapuri arriving Bangalore on 14.02.2015.
12.Train No.12258 Kochuveli – Yesvantpur (Tri-weekly) Garibrath express leaving Kochuveli on 13.02.2015 will be diverted via. Tirupattur, Jolarpettai ‘A’Cabin,  instead of Hosur, Dharmapuri arriving Yesvantpur on 14.02.2015.
III. PARTIAL CANCELLATION:
Train No.17236 Nagercoil – Bangalore express arriving Bangalore on 13.02.2015 partially cancelled between Hosur and Bangalore.  The same train left Hosur at 14.20 hrs. to Ernakulam with stranded passengers of Train No.12267 Bangalore City – Ernakulam express as passenger special.

Weekend Special Trains between Coimbatore-Chennai Central via Salem, Erode, Tiruppur & between Tirunelveli-Chennai Central via Salem, Namakkal, Karur, Rasipuram

Special trains will be run, as explained below, to clear the extra rush of traffic.

1. Superfast special trains between Chennai Central & Coimbatore

Train No.06026 Chennai Central – Coimbatore superfast special train will leave Chennai Central at 22.30 hrs. o­n 13.02.2015, 20.02.2015 & 27.02.2015 (Fridays) and reach Coimbatore at 06.40 hrs. the next day.

Train No.06027 Coimbatore – Chennai Central superfast special train will leave Coimbatore at 23.30 hrs. o­n 15.02.2015, 22.02.2015 & 01.03.2015 (Sundays) and reach Chennai Central at 07.15 hrs. the next day.

2. Special trains between Tirunelveli – Chennai Central (via. Dindigul, Namakkal, Salem)

Train No.06024 Tirunelveli – Chennai Central superfast special train will leave Tirunelveli at 07.10 hrs. o­n 13.02.2015, 20.02.2015 & 27.02.2015 (Fridays) and reach Chennai Central at 20.00 hrs. the same day.

Train No.06025 Chennai Central – Tirunelveli special train will leave Chennai Central at 10.10 hrs. o­n 16.02.2015, 23.02.2015 & 02.03.2015 (Mondays) and reach Tirunelveli at 23.30 hrs. the same day.

The trains will stop at Kovilpatti, Satur, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Kodaikkanal Road, Dindigul, Karur, Namakkal, Rasipuram, Salem, Morappur, Jolarpettai, Vaniyambadi, Ambur, Katpadi and Arakkonam.Train No.06024 Tirunelveli – Chennai Central superfast special train will stop at Perambur also.

The composition of the trains will be 17 second class sleeper, 4 general second class and 2 luggage-cum-brake van coaches.

Advance reservations for the above trains will commence on 12.02.2015. 

Special Trains between Santragachi (West Bengal) and Ernakulam, via Erode and Coimbatore

To cater to the extra rush of passengers, the following trains are being operated between Santragachi (West Bengal) and Ernakulam, via Erode and Coimbatore, as per details given hereunder:

Ambush Ticket Checking Drive conducted by the Southern Railway Salem Division today (09.02.2015)

In an Ambush Ticket Checking Drive conducted  from 06.00 hrs. to 17.00 Hrs. today (09.02.2015) by the Southern Railway Salem Division and Head Quarters Ticket Checking officials, in Vridhachalam-Salem Passenger, Karaikal-Bangalore Passenger, Salem-Coimbatore Passenger and Coimbatore-Mettupalayam Passenger Trains, 212 persons travelling without valid tickets were apprehended and an amount of Rs.59,265/- was collected from them as fine. 27 Ticket Checking officials (14 from Salem Division) and 13 from Southern Railway Head quarters, along with 13 RPF personnel under the supervision of Sri B. Venkatasubramanian, Asst. Commercial Manager, Salem Division, undertook this special drive. More such surprise checks have been planned to be carried out on daily basis, by Salem Division Commercial Branch to eliminate the challenge of ticketless travelling.
