Change in sequence of Coaches in Train Nos. 11063/11064 Salem-Chennai Egmore-Salem Express

At present, Train Nos. 11063/11064 Salem-Chennai Egmore-Salem Express train, are running with the S9 coach next to the Engine, followed by S1 to S8 in that order, that resulted in inconvenience to passengers in finding their seats/berths. This had been in vogue, with a view to detach the slip coach meant for Mettur Dam in the rake.

Hence, in coordination with the Central Railway (since the same rake is being used for T.Nos. 12163/12164-Chennai Egmore-Dadar-Chennai Egmore express), Sri Ajeet Saxena, Chief Commercial Manager, Southern Railway, has facilitated change of sequence in such a way that after the Engine, S9 coach will come (as earlier), but that will be followed by S8, S7, S6, S5, S4, S3, S2, and S1 in that order, with a view to avoid confusion. This has been effected from 20.11.2016.  All the railway stations en route have been advised to guide passengers on this realignment of coaches.

The original order of the rake, and the revised order have been attached for illustrative purposes.

Mulluvadi LC Gate – permission only for pedestrians and 2 wheelers

Warning Boards placed on both sides of the Mulluvadi LC Gate

In some section of the media, it has been wrongly reported today that permission has been granted by Salem Division authorities, for all vehicles including cars and heavy vehicles to pass through the Mulluvadi LC Gate in Cherry Road, as requested by the traffic police authorities.

In this regard, it is clarified that only pedestrians and 2 wheelers have been permitted to pass through the said Mulluvadi LC Gate and no other vehicle has been permitted by Salem Division, with a view to reduce traffic congestion in the area, as the construction works are still going on there. Railway authorities have also placed boards and warning stickers on both the sides to this effect.

It is therefore warned that no vehicle other than 2 wheelers, including auto, car or any other vehicle, will be permitted to pass through the Mulluvadi LC, failing which Railway administration has got powers to proceed against them as trespass and punish them accordingly. The railway administration will also not be responsible for any mishap or consequences thereupon met by the trespasser.
