Airconditioned Passenger Waiting Hall opened at Erode Junction

To improve the comfort of railway passengers, Indian Railways is taking various steps in all the major stations. As an additional step in this direction, Salem Division, Southern Railway, has inaugurated the airconditioned Passenger Waiting Hall at the Erode junction today (11.09.2015).  The new waiting hall, capable of accommodating 36 passengers at a time, is provided in the subway of Erode Junction near the main entrance. The tariff for using the AC waiting for one hour has been fixed at Rs.15/- per passenger. Any passenger holding a valid train ticket can make use of this facility. Already, an airconditioned waiting hall for the train passengers is functioning in the Coimbatore junction and another one is to be inaugurated shortly in the Salem Junction.
