As a part of various welfare measures by Indian Railways for its
employees, Salem Division, of Southern Railway, conducted an “Awareness Meet”
for the employees who are to retire from railway services, from October 2015 to
March 2016. The meet was held at the Rail Kalayana Mandapam, Railway Colony,
Erode, today (11.09.2015). Out of 134 retirees, 87 attended the meet. A health
camp was conducted for them and during the Meet, details of the settlement
benefits and the formalities to be completed by the retirees were discussed.
Representatives from the Postal Department, State Bank of India and Life Insurance Corpn. of India, were present
and spoke on the various safe investment options for them. Sri Sukumaran, Asst.
Health Officer/Southern Railway, made a power point presentation on ‘Post
Retirement Health’. The meet was presided over by Sri R.S.Sinha, Addl.
Divisional Railway Manager, Salem Division. Sri G. Janarthanan, Divisional
Personnel Officer and Sri Prince Rajanayagam Patel, Asst Divisional
Finance Manager, of Salem Division, were present during the Meet and interacted
with the retirees.
