Staff Sensitization Program held at Salem Division, Southern Railway, during Vigilance Awareness Week

All over India, in all Government organisations, with a view to create awareness against corruption and towards vigilance, Vigilance Awareness Week is being observed from 30^th October, 2017, to 4^th November, 2017. Various awareness programs are being conducted all over Indian Railways, during this period. As part of the Vigilance Awareness Week, today (02.11.2017), a Staff Sensitization Program was conducted at the Multipurpose Hall in the Divisional Office premises of Southern Railway, Salem Division.

The program was headed by Sri Hari Shankar Verma, DRM, Salem, and was attended by Sri Chandrapal, ADRM, Salem, Sri Perumal Nandalal, Sr. Divl Engineer/Coordination, Salem, Sri A. Vijuvin, Sr.Divl Commercial Manager, Salem, Sri.S. Thirumurugan, Divisional Personnel Officer, Salem, Sri Devendra Kumar Yadav, Dy. Chief Vigilance Officer/Signal& Telecom, Southern Railway, Sri. K. Gopal, Dy. Chief Vigilance Officer/Mechanical, Southern Railway, other officers and staff of Salem Division.

During the program, an Integrity Pledge was administered committing for integrity and honesty and against corruption.

During his address, Sri Hari Shankar Verma, DRM, said that there is no need to fear of any action for honest persons. He said that the rules are made to only regulate the affairs, and if there is sufficient reason to feel that the rule is against the administrative interest, it can be appealed to be changed. He further advised that the vigilance officials should first sensitize and educate the staff about the procedures to be followed and if there were any deviations found for the next time, action can be initiated.

Later, Sri Chandrapal, ADRM, Sri Devendra Kumar Yadav, Dy.CVO and Sri K. Gopal, Dy.CVO addressed the gathering. Sri K. Gopal also made a power point presentation on various facets of vigilance awareness.
