Observance of Swachch Neer Diwas (Clean Water Day) campaign by Salem Division, Southern Railway, today (20.09.2016)

The fourth day of the Swachchta Saptah (Cleanliness Week) campaign was observed today (20.09.2016) as the Swchch Rail Gaadi Diwas (Clean Trains Day) all over Salem Division. The Officers and staff of Salem Division under the guidance of Dr. M. Narasimham, Chief Medical Superintendent, Salem, carried out cleaning of all water bodies in railway premises such as tanks, taps, water coolers, etc., and also checked the quality and content of the water therein. The work was carried out in all the stations under Salem Division such as Salem, Erode, Tirupur, Coimbatore, Mettupalayam, Ooty, Coonoor, Podanur, Karur, etc., The water bottles that were available for sale in the sales outlets were also checked as to the date of the bottling and expiry of the same.
